Convertible Owners...

Question for all the convertible owners. I was wondering if anyone has experienced problems with leaks. I went to the drive-thru car wash yesterday after having my a new top installed. Needless to say a bit of water came splashing in. I believe its due to my window seals. All seals are new, but they dont fully protect wind or water from entering. Any suggestions?

a] Never go thru a drive thru unless you want to try to find some new chrome trim and Pay $$$$

b] Mine leaks between the front and rear windows sometimes -not much

c] I've always wondered why on a 69 drop top there are two holes at the front window frame but one one post

Never take a convertible through a drive through car wash.

These things use so much water pressure, they make almost any car leak. Convertibles or frameless doors leak the most in car washes, but they will keep regular rain out.

Hand wash only for 'vert's - wait until the fundraiser washes at Hooters!

A side note - most car owners manuals will say water leakage in car washes is to be expected due to high pressure water being sprayed at angles rain would not occure at.
(Unless it is a 2009 Buick LaCrosse. The door seals leak during just light rain showers and get the leather seats and driver wet... I found this out with a rental car in Maine back in June. Stupid doors had two layers of weatherstrip, too!!!)

All convertibles leak even newer ones if you spray water from the side.

I've had water leak between the header and top seal at 110mph.
I'm much smarter now and will never have that problem again.

At 110 miles per hour you don't need the top up cuz you won't get wet!!
