Cool yard sale score
It will still look nice on the garage wall. Here's some of the more interesting ones I've picked up over the years. The 1948 Illinois is made of fiberboard and the 1912 Michigan is coated with Porcelain.

i was fortunate enough to stumble on a collection of Danbury Mint and Frankin Mint cars at a garage sale. Bought 10 cars for $5.00 each. They were in excellent condition - husband died (I think) and wife wanted to get rid of them fast and didn't care about the selling price. It was my best find...these cars go for $100+ ea. new.
