Photos from the 2009 OCA Nationals

We were there today (Thursday, July 16) for the afternoon and took about 100 photos. It might take a bit for the page to load as there are so many photos. Each is only about 100kb, though, so it shouldn't be too bad. I probably won't leave this up more than a few weeks.

It was a beautiful day. Cars continued to arrive the entire time we were there, so I'm guessing that they'll have maybe 50% to 100% more cars by Saturday?

Click here to see the photos.

Ahh, but I wish I could. We were there only Thursday afternoon, and we won't be able to get back. We need others to post their photos, too!

Thumbs down

Nice photos! Thanks for posting.

Call me crazy, but the car I like best in those pics was the Black '67 Delta Custom with maroon bucket seat interior.

Thanx for sharing. I wanted to go but didn't register for the club and therefore the show. Good thing I didn't as my migraines have been bad all week so I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

Stickman, it isn't necessary to register for anything if you just wanted to wander around the show field and swap meet. Registration is only if you wanted to show a car. I didn't pay a dime to park my (non-Olds) car and spend several hours there. I'm not currently a member of OCA, either. No one asked to see a membership card or anything. The show is open to the public if all you want to do is be a spectator.

I know but if I drive all that way it would be in the wagon and then I would want to show it. Sadly I have been in bed most all the day so It simply wouldn'y have happened.

Thanks

Thanks so much for the pics jaunt75 and tk65. Lots of nice cars to look at and try to draw inspiration from. Stickman I can totally relate to your situation. I got 3 verabrae out of place in my neck ( never take a tree on the head ) The one at the base of the head causes pressure on the nerve and gives me massive headaches while the 2 below that have bulging discs that restrict the nerves to both right and left arms and hands. Sometimes after working on the car I lose some feeling in both hands and pain in both arms. Doc tells me if I wear a brace and don't do any work then it will feel better but I have a hard time doing nothing.I guess you just have to look at it like there is always someone worse off than me , I have met a few whose life is a major struggle just doing things I have taken for granted. My neighbours daughter is one of those people , she struggles to get her arms and legs to function but she always wears a smile. Soon I will have my car done once I get the rad fixed ( hopefully it can be fixed cause I can't afford the $400 for a recore) and figure out why the wiper motor now does not work I look at it like my Olds has helped me to keep moving and keep doing stuff. Wish we had more Olds around here but there are no Olds shows anywhere close so the pics of the show cars are greatly appreciated guys , thanks again.

That's about spot on. My wife let's me do what I can do to my car as it's like therapy. Both her, my Doc, and PT think I need to get out as much as possible. I am in the same position as you. If I work on the car I can almost bet It will have an effect on me, but it is far better to do that then simply sit inside and not do anything. I am lucky to have my wife as she not only pushes me to get outside and work on it but let's me put money into the car. The pics are much appreciated from those that are there. Next best thing to being there.

Hey stickman;
Talk about therapy I 've had Four Discs removed and Three Vertabrae Fused with Titanium Rods and I still get out to the shop and work on my frame off '62 Starfire but the alternative was something to not look forward to as to restore or work of any type, on these Oldsmobiles whatsoever. Think positive as this type of work is GOOD therapy !!!

This is what I need to have done and cause it's in my neck I worry that it will restrict movement there. Like looking left and right. But if the specialist asks if I want it done then I would cause it's better than the constant pain and loss of feeling in my hands.chequenman how has yours been since you had that done? Any problems or was it good overall? When did you have it done? I ask cause this is in my near future , hope you don't mind my asking

I had it done in 2001 Feb. and in early Fall an old employer asked if I would deliver the odd Tractor Trailer load of material locally for him and before long that's all I'm doing is being careful and driving Large Trucks.

Hey, Guys!! I guess it's what you like but I can tell you there were more beautiful cars than just the Cutlass/442's shown in those pictures. As a matter of fact, mine can be seen in the background of a couple of those shots. There was a great variety of age and body style. It was a good show except for the frequent free washes on Friday and Saturday and the prices of stuff at the Resort. I stayed for the banquet and drove home this morning. I'll post some of my pictures as soon as I get them downloaded to the computer.

Beautiful pictures of a wonderful day. I saw some more posted at Realoldspower from the weekend. The field was soaked. I guess it rained most of the weekend. I wish you would have taken pictures of the black 73 Supreme, I wondered if it was the 4 speed one in Hemmings recently. There were at least 3 74 H/O's that showed up. Wish I could have gone.

Great pics.

I know you didn't get mine when I saw that pic on the rear of the 442 with NY plates, I was parked behind him on Saturday
