Last minute thrash!!

Well I leave Wednesday AM for Columbus. I've been taking care of a few things before I load the trailer.

My biggest issue is I bottomed out hard the other day. It was the bottom the the Lakewood scatter shield that hit. Lucky for me it does not seem to messed with my block to bellhousing alignment. The cure was 30 seconds with the plasma cutter to cut off about an inch of the bottom lip. Its now almost even with the cross member.

I had a wheel that I scraped when it was a rolling frame. I started with 180 to get the get the nick out then 240, 400, 1000 and then ploshed by hand with blue magic and finished up with Mother's Billet polish. Looks like new again. If you have never tryed Mothers its the best stuff out there. Its very expensive and will not take anything but the finest scratches. What it will do is bring a shine on billet almost chrome.

Spent a lot of time cleaning and checking bolts and such.

Finally pulled the rear springs and trimmed another 1/4 of a spring. Thats a lotal of 3/4 of on coil now. Its sits just right now but the springs are now too short. When I get back I need to look at another option for rear springs. At full shock extension the springs are now loose.

The one thing I will not have the time to do is fix the Q-jet. I am sure if I start messing with it I can get it sorted out but I don't want to risk something breaking taking it apart and need a part. It runs and drives fine just not under hard acceleration. I really wanted to try it out on the AirRide Challenge Auto-X.

Anyone going I will see you there.
