stupid question

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

What makes a 1968 W-30 a W-30?

For that year how many different types of 442's were there?

Thanks, Dan

There were three body styles:
Convertible (VIN 344678...)
Sport Coupe (VIN 344778...)
Holiday Coupe (VIN 344878...).

Each could have been ordered with one of several drivetrain combos:
Turnpike Cruiser engine - 400 cu in, 290 HP, 2bbl, TH400
Automatic trans engine - 400 cu in, 325 HP, 4bbl, TH400
Base manual trans engine - 400 cu in, 350 HP, HD 3spd floor shift
Manual trans engine w/4spd - 400 cu in, 350 HP, Muncie 4spd floor shift
W-30 - 400 cu in, 360 HP, O.A.I., and either special TH400 or Muncie 4spd
