getting excited for tomorrow!!!!

i just got home from a drive with the family. we ran across a house with 4 69 cutlasses, a 70 cutlass and a 60s 88. i am going to meet the guy that ownes them tomorrow morning. all the 69s looked very bad shape but one had a nice duel gate shifter and console from a 70 to 72. hopeing to get a deal!

i have drove this area for years and they just showed up within the past 3 months. i am just rambling but had to tell someone

Hope you feel better soon man.

Be sure to take your camera with you when you go see the cars though so you can post some.

If there's anything for sale there that you don't buy, let me know, I live near Chicago and it's not that long a ride.

doing a little better now but have a ways to go.

this guy knows a little about the values of the cars. he only wants to sell 3 of the 69 cutlasses. the nicest one is a 4 door and it is rust free. it has a beautiful dash in it. also has A/C and power trunk. the 2 door cars are very ruff. the doors are solid on them. one of the 3 will run but needs tuned bad. it also has a duel gate shifter and console for a 70 to 72 car. the console is bad but the duel gate top plate is there. he wants $3000 for them all or $2300 for the running 2 door with the 4 door. he will not sell the 4 door by itself. the other 2 door has buckets and auto console and shifter. the paint is bad on all 3 cars. the 2 doors have new tires.

i forgot my camera but will be able to get pictures later. he also said that everything is for sale for the right price. he would only put a price on the cutlasses though. my buddy wants the fire birds but he would not price them. i know that you can't see them but i am thinking that he is a little high. i do not know the value of a 4 door. i have an engine i could put in it.

i have tried to talk him down and he will not budge. i hate to let them go but i just can't risk $3000. i was just going to put an engine in the 4 door and sell two of them as running cars and part the other one. i am hopeing to get pictures of them soon. if i don't get these i plan on getting the 85 442 that i have looked at.

i am not going to get them for sure. i had to be sick when i looked at the 4 door because the quarter panels are bad and rust on the front finders. i told him i would have to pass on them but asked if i could get pictures of them because i may be able to sell them for him and he got a little mad and said to quit wasting his time. i feel he is to high but if anyone wants to have a go at it they are fair game. he has another car that i have not seen but he gave me a web sight with pictures of it. it looks like it may be high also.

http://thisoldcar.9f.com/index.html

i could not find a contact in the sight but if you have to find out for yourself send me a PM and i will give you his number. just don't tell him you got it from me. his name is SID. i don't think he likes me now. please only PM if you are serious or hopefully you can find a contact in the link.

We all "know", because it is spelled out in the Olds Wiki under "Cam Bank Angle, Lifter Size Considerations"

the title of this thread don't fit anymore. i will start a new one with pictures when i get the others home.

i just got one of these cars home. i am now more happy with my purchase. this guy never opened the trunk on any of these cars. i got the first one home and found a sport steering wheel. i also figured out it has a 71 72 10 bolt posi. i found the code and it is R2 that is for a single track but someone has changed the inside parts to a posi. i don't know the ratio but done the jack it up and spin it in neutral deal and found that it is somewhere around a 4.10:1. it also has a 400 transmission that i can't identify yet. it has AA-69-152943 on the tag. the paint (or what ever it was marked with) is all gone that would have the OW or OJ or whatever. i also found in another trunk, a complete set of front end bushings. i will bring home the 4 door next. the dash is beautiful in that one and it is an A/C dash.
