The beast is out- for now

I had to (had to!) take the Olds for a drive this week. I have her stored in my mother's apartment garage for the winter (free, for now). On Thursday, they cleaned the garage with high pressure air and water wash, so I had to vacate for that. Drove it the 3 miles to my place (a car port, no garage). After she was warm, she drove like a top! Had to drive top-up, however, as I am in Canada, and it's still freaking cold here-- WAY too cold for a 'vert. Back she goes this weekend (as long as it ain't raining), and there she'll stay until mid April. That's about as early as I can bring her out for real (and as early as the bride will allow me to take over the car port!).
That's the way we live up here in the frozen tundra!

Way cool! Gotta get it out and enjoy it... Spring IS here, you will be driving tops down before you know it.
You guys up north have a late start and early end, but y'all do have the advantage of enjoying your cars all summer. Many of us in the deep south have the hot summer hibernation period, often 2-3 months. I can't take the heat above 95 at all...

Five inches of snow here on Sat. but that was gone on Sunday. It's sure nice to get the Olds out and drive it. The comfort level is superior to our C300 and the cool factor is out of sight.

Well, the bride made me take 'er back into storage...
Good thing too; it's been cold and rainy for days, and my friends in New Brunswick just got a sh*t load of snow. I guess we could still get it here.
New target date: end of the month.
Then it's time to decide what to spend money on first!
Candidates:
- Oil and tranny leak (I guess this is a pretty important one!!)
- white smoke (I'm hoping this is just me running it in cold weather!)
- rear suspension sag
- new top
And that's jes fer starters! :-)
Cheers!

Spring??

We had snow a couple of days ago and it is gone now but it is supposed to rain most of the next couple of weeks. That is spring here , at least it is warming up. I am still a month or two from getting the Olds back on the road cause what started as a small winter project got away from me a little. The only thing left in the engine bay is the block and tranny , which I did not take apart. The valve covers are next to come off as the engine bay has now been repainted , then I got to put it all back together. hopefully I don't end up with too many extra pieces
