Having said that, once again let's not confuse ASKING price with SELLING price. He can ask $1M, but that doesn't make it worth that much. There was an alleged 71 W-30 convertible on ebay recently where the ad prominently stated that the car had been for sale at the 2007 Meecham auction with a $200K reserve. It also didn't sell there, so why are we supposed to be impressed by that? It could as easily been a $1M reserve. So what? Until cash changes hands, asking prices mean nothing.

Yep, put that Hurst Olds name in and the price goes up into the upper atmosphere, my car cost less than that fender. I wonder if they'll throw that oil cap in on the deal?.

The '68 Cutlass S I just bought, which is in quite nice shape, I might add, cost much less than that. Would be cool to have a NOS fender, but I certainly can't afford one.

Ive come to expect steep prices from Originality Plus. That dude has a bunch of NOS parts and none of them are cheap.

if people used this logic when pricing their cars and parts for sale, their stuff would sell faster.

how many times have we heard a seller say "one just like mine was for sale for blah blah blah".

but did it sell for blah blah blah??

people need to stop just throwing a price against the wall to see if it sticks.

im a firm fan of the fast nickel.

Yeah, it's no different in the housing market. Of course, I also like to say that if you don't ask (the higher price), then you definitely won't get it. There's always one person out there with more money than brains - you just gotta find him.

Yea I saw that fender a few days ago. I have a pair of them that I picked up about 10 or 15 years ago from a guy. They have some light surface rust cause they were never painted, just factory black primer, they are the factory replacements so they have 5 holes in them to mount both the 68 or 69 hood hinges. I`ve never seen any other nos fenders for sale.
