Hi All,
I recently purchased an '84 98 Regency with a Delco ETR AM/FM Cassette deck, and I'd like to swap this out for a new stereo. I've done lots of searching and the most I've been able to learn is how to remove the front panel and that I probably need a 1.5 DIN size stereo - can anyone verify that? I'd like to do the installation myself, and don't want to have to cut or modify the existing panel. Can it be done, especially without spending an arm and a leg? Cheers, Kyle |

Check with Radio Shack they sell a assortment of faceplates & mounting hardware Also get the new plug from them so you dont have to cut the factory harness

Thanks for the advice, ozoneblue, I'll check them out. Thing is, there's no way the opening in the current panel is wide enough for a CD, which has me worried. I'll wait to see what the say, unless anyone out there has dealt with the same issue.
Cheers, Kyle |

I notched my dash out on my 85 delta, no big deal. They made so many of those you could find another dash if you ever wanted to convert back. Once you have your new bada$$ stereo in you won't even care about the dash anymore anyway. Bluebook value on an 84 regency is probably 700 bucks if you had every option and 30000 miles on her. My insurance company wanted to total my car out for 6 or 700 hundred bucks a few years ago after someone backed into my door at Best Buy. It only had 70000 on it so I obviously told them to get bent and just put another door on from the boneyard. My neighbor just recently backed into THAT door and I can't say I'm thrilled. Anyway, If I remember correctly on my dash the volume and am/fm selector knob along with the R/L balance rings, pulled right off. There were 2 screws above the cigarette lighter and the faux wood panel pulled right off of a few clips. Worst case scenario you break it and can only find a panel without the rear defog cutout and have to move the switch elseware. 99.99% unlikely though.
