question about distributors please

what happens when i put a distributor from a 1969 455 2B into a 1969 350 4B?

ive tried looking at the distributor interchange section in the tech section, but dont quite understand what the I#s mean.

it boils down to this - i just bought a 68 cutlass that has a 69 replacement block in it from a dealership warranty repair

it has a single points type distributor in it but i do not believe it is a factory olds distributor - more on that in a second

i bought an ignitor 2 electronic ignition and coil for it

i pulled the air cleaner housing off tonight to start on it, and when i took a closer look at the distributor, it has no vacuum advance cannister on it
and i do not believe it to be an oldsmobile distributor because it doesnt look like the photos ive seen, and it has no numbers on it, nor does it have a name brand on it.

the car works fine as is, but im a dummy with the points, and dont want an HEI, so i thought the ignitor 2 was my answer
now with this oddball distributor, id prefer a factory olds dist. with a vacuum advance cause its going to be a car me, and my wife will drive.

so, i see a distributor on ebay that has numbers on it that says it came from a 69 455 with a 2b carb on it - what happens when i take that dist. and install it into my 350?

thanks

Mike

Since it is the same distributor, it will do the job. Any Olds V8 distributor, from '65 to '72, is a direct interchange.

Igniter is a good substitute for points. I prefer points.
