Question

I currently have a 72 Olds cutlass with a 455 mated to a 350 tranny. I just bought this car. The car was running fine. But over this last weekend the car sat. I went to start it up and the starter made a grinding noise and it did not engage. So i figured the starter was going bad or the celenoid. And over the past two days it has gotten to the point where i turn the key and there is nothing at all, not even clicking, seems as though there was nothing to the starter at all. So I went out and bought a new starter and it does the same thing, turn the key and it seems as though there is no power going to the starter. I do not know alot about cars. And I was wondering if anyone could help me out or at least throw out some suggestions on what could be wrong. anything would be appreciated.
