Turn Signal Question - Electrical?

My 72 442 turn signals both work. However, the left one blinks at a much slower rate than the right one. The right one is "normal" in my opinion, while the left one is very slow. What should I be looking for to repair?

I would check all the wiring grounds and connectors and make sure all the bulb socket contacts and grounds are clean and good first.

It could be a bulb as said if you haven't checked them all, a bad or disconnected bulb will make them flash slow too.

Try replacing the turn signal flasher . When the flasher gets weak it can cause this.

All bulbs work so I will look at replacing the flasher. Is that a difficult job, etc?

Since the same flasher is used for both the RH and LH turn signals, how can it change speed? Answer: it can't. The flasher is fine. You have excessive resistance in one side of the system. Check EVERYTHING - bulb contacts in sockets, ground points, connectors, etc. Also, be sure all the bulbs are the same. For example there are 1157 and 2157 bulbs. These interchange but have different resistance and thus will change the flash rate.

Great information Joe! Thanks, I will begin tracking it down and make sure the bulbs are identical.
