Bouncing gas gauge
1977 Delta 88, jsut bought it.
the gas gauge bounces back and forth by about a quarter tank either way from the actual reading. I have to let the car sit motionless to get an accurate reading. I noticed the gas tank is new. Is the problem in the sender or the gauge?

i dont think there is a problem those delta 88 got a floater
in side of the tank so when you take off it looks like you got more gas when you come to a stop it goes lower right. i dont think anything wrong with you delt |

If that's the case, then it's really poorly designed. It jumps around so much it's ridiculous, and very distracting. I wish i could film it and post it so you could see.
Do you know if there is a voltage regulator to smooth out the reading? I've been told Buicks have that. I have a 1970 Lesabre and the gas gauge is smooth like a modern car. Thanks.
