oil/choke light stays on 90 custom cruiser

my oil/choke light stays on and i get an annoying dinging in my cruiser i have changed the oil and far as i can tell the choke is working right wasnt on when i first drove the car only came on after they replace the power steering pump. could this be a pinched wire or something simple like that??

I'm pretty sure your CC does not use an electric choke, so the Oil/Choke light is really only an Oil light. With the key in the RUN position (but the engine not running) remove the wire from the oil sender under the hood. With the wire disconnected the light should go out. Now ground the wire. The light should go on. If these tests work, then the problem is either the sender or you really do have low oil pressure. If the tests do not work, you have a shorted wire.
