65 Wiper Help

Bought a 65 Cutlass last month and have got around to the item on the "to do" list marked wipers. The wipers do not work. I have checked out the wiper switch and it is working. Below is a photo of what I think is the wiper/washer assembly. It looks like there are 2 electrical attachment points (one broken off) on the resistor. The washer components are long gone and I do not want to fix the washer just like to have wipers especially since monsoon season is soon approaching in Thailand. I am an electric idiot so does someone please have a diagram or can tell me the next steps. Thanks
