Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about a hard tonneau cover I saw on a 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale convertible. It was obviously not original to this car based on its different original paint and the quality of the installation. I assume these were all aftermarket peices, or am I wrong? Was there a factory option for these? It was a two peice unit, painted to match the car and looked to be made of plastic. Any words of wisdom appreciated. Thanks, Allan |

It's a GM factory option, technically available only for Buick and Cadillac convertibles but a lot of them find their way onto Oldsmobiles. It's made of fiberglass reinforced plastic and should be painted to match the car. They never fit right unless you use the factory attaching hardware, which was a set of plastic-coated hooks that fit under the pinchweld and a pair of Dzus quarter-turn fasteners to hold it in place at the front. Those clipped into the plastic trim pad between side panel and rear seat.
I had a couple of them, used to run one on my 73 Royale ragtop. Sold the other to a 75 owner in Atlanta.
