What size bolts and nuts are needed for the aligment job on an 85 Delta 88?
I need 4, I have the control arm shafts, well thier comming, and I need the bolts. I'll have to go to Home Depot for them, but what size are they? |

On an 85, the front end alignment is made by loosening the two nuts that hold the upper control arm shaft to the frame and inserting shims between the shaft and frame as appropriate. To replace the shafts (which should only be required if they are excessively worn) you need to completely remove the upper control arms from the car. Finally, if you're really talking about suspension bolts, the LAST thing you want to do is get them from Home Depot. Suspension bolts have very specific strength requirements and usually need Grade 8. Home Depot may have a bin for Grade 8 bolts, but I've always found the drawers to be empty. The regular chrome-plated bolts they sell are tinfoil grade.

The bolts that hold the upper control arm shaft to the frame are special high-strength bolts with splines to hold them in the frame. They are not standard bolts. You DEFINITELY won't find them at Home Depot. It's possible that a real auto parts store (as opposed to Advanced et al) can order them from Moog or TRW. These bolts rarely need to be replaced unless damaged.
