The Difference?
What is the difference between a Holiday Sedan, Holiday, Super 88, and a 88?
I cannot find out which my car is, i've seen many pictures resembling my car. |

a post has a frame around the window and a holiday has none so when you roll down the window you dont see the difference from the front and back hope this helps you, let me know if you need more (google oldsmobile body styles)

Main differences between 88 and Super 88 would be engine power levels, as determined by compression ratio and carb (2 or 4 barrel) specs. Quote:
The year will also be helpful, as the terminology sometimes changed from year to year. Norm

Videos of 1955 models
Hello,
If pictures are worth 1000 words, then moving pictures must be worth... more. There is a pretty comprehensive compendium of 1955 Oldsmobile TV ads on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCZ1NAoi86E They start out with the 1954 models, but if you skip to about 5 minutes and 30 seconds in, the 1955 models will be introduced and described. I think the answers to your questions are in there somewhere. Might want to make popcorn first. There are a lot of ads. Mister |

From what I see, there were 4 big cars. Dynamic 88, Super 88, Starfire, and 98.
I'm surprised that I don't see any reference to a Holiday. If you check the trim tag (on your firewall) you should see one of the following, 4 digit, numbers: 3239 = 4 dr Hardtop Sedan 3269 = 4 dr pillar sedan Not Gospel, as Parts/Body Manuals have been known to disagree, in this area, with my Shop manuals.
