Nebie on the Forum

Hey Guys. I just bought a 64 Jetstar 88 Sedan. Its in darn good condtion too. 61,000 original miles, paint is still pretty good, very little rust, and the interior is lookin great. i picked her up for 1500. I was wondering what kind of options i would have as far as the motor goes, like intake manifolds, headers, etc, etc.... I am by no means trying to build somthing with a lot of power. I'm going more for cruising/sound, and a little bit of power when you wanna pass an old lady. Any help would be much appreciated!

Your J88 should have the 330 V8. This is the first application for the Olds small block and virtually all 350 Old parts will interchange. The only things to watch out for are a few one-year-only items. The main ones are the motor mounts, water pump, and rocker shaft heads. These are unique to the 1964 model year. In fact, the motor mounts are unique to the 1964 J88 and replacements are not available.
