1978 Delta 88 Royal

Hi Everybody

I am new here on the forum.

I have a 1978 Delta 88 Royal 4 door. It has dark red matalic paint with a very dark red vinyl top with factory gold pinstripes. It has a beautiful medium red velure seats. Everything is red. I love the wood grain on the dash and inlay on the steering weel and door panels.

I personaly think the Delta 88 has nicer taillights than the Delta 98.

It is a beautiful low milage car.

It came from an elderly couple who where honestly midgets! The wife was only 80 some pounds and the husband was about 90 some pounds. They where so short that when we got the car it had the rearview mirror mounted at the bottom of the windsheild! They did not pay for the pasenger side mirror.

Here is something very funny:
GM has always had a reputation for making you pay for every little thing. In this case they did not pay for a light in the glove box. Here is how this is funny: They put a black plastic plug in the glove box where the light usaly is. BUT THEY JUST PUT IT OVER A WORKING LIGHT BULB! The glove box does have a light that comes on when you open it. I descovered it one day when I noticed that the glove box has a presher switch for a light and with a little investigation I found out it does after all have a light built in! So I carefuly poped the the cover off and now I have a light!

I also have all the original documentation for the car.

I do not want to drive it in the winter so I bought a beater to drive in the winter for a mere $50

I absolutly will not drive my Delta in the winter unless it is a last resort.

Welcome to CO. I owned a '78 Delta 88 once and it was the same color scheme exactly! I agree with you on the tail lights. The story about the glove box lamp is very interesting, probably cheaper to do it that way.
