69 Delta 1/4 mile times

I finaly took the 69 convert to the strip it ran a 15.2 on shity tires that have no grip. I couldnt even lean into the secondaries until 2nd gear but I'll get beter tires and go back. It smoked a few imports but the 11.5 sec. lancer evo smoked me. If anyone knows of a semi cheap tire thats sticky I'd like to know what worked and what didn't.

Sounds like pretty good times for '69 Delta, it's a heavy car. You may find it difficult to break into the 14's even with better tires, the rear end ratio is pretty tall on those cars as thery were built to be highway cruisers. There are lots of racers over at realoldspower.com that could give you many good recommendations, you might check over there. Good luck with your racing..

yeah my biggest problem is that its not hooking up off the line, but it still does the 1/8th mile in 9 seconds (probubly partly my driving stile and the TH400 with a shift kit and stall converter do help out a bit).
