Wheels for a 66 Dynamic ?

Hi Agian Guys,
Back to bug you all, I just wanted to Gauge Opinion,
My Car is a 66 Dynamic 88 , 4 door, Hard Top, and as mentioned on another thread
I want to change the Stock 14,s up to a nicer 15 inch rim , so that later on down the road I can have the option , off installing a Disc Brake Upgrade on the front.
The Converstion kit is available , but will only work wuth 15,s, and as I wanted 15,s on the Car anyway ......
I,ve looked at all sorts of wheels , but Nothing really works for me ,
The only thing I see is the Keystone Klassic , but I dont know if this would look really ridiculous on my Car ?
After all it is a Big Full size 4 door , if it was a 2 door I would prob just go ahead an stick em on , but .......

Any Thoughs or Comments would be gratefully recieved ,
I dont wanna make a fool off myself , lol

Oh Yeah.....
would a 15x7 onthe front an say a 15x8 on the rear work ?

You can mix wheel widths without incident. Since I am old school I do not think any aftermarket chrome or aluminum wheel will look good on your 88 with exception of possibly Crager SS's.....

I think a good look for your car (esp. because its a Dynamic, which has limited brightwork/trim) could be 15 inch painted steel rims with stock dog-dish hubcaps. The '66 dog-dish caps are a bit sought after, but they are now reproed:

The caps are not exactly cheap, but I bet they would look good on your car AND appeal to the purist that may exist in you!

Another alternative is what I did with my '65 Jetstar:

These are special 15" rims used on 67-68 big cars, often police vehicles (so somewhat rare). They use '66 era Toronado center caps and are designed to clear disc brakes. The rims are not easy to find, but I figured I'd throw that idea out there.

You have to be real careful about wheel design as well as wheel width, I remember Joe talking about SS wheels being used on earlier cars with disc conversions and certain ones don't have sufficient offset to clear the calipers in the conversion. A search may be useful, or Joe himself may comment here. My opinion on wheel styles in general would be do what you like. I do agree that certain wheel styles seem to "look right" on a 2 door or a sport coupe, etc. You might go over to the HAMB and cruise around there for a while. They have lots of pictures in their posts and although most of their cars are pre-64 the late fifties and early sixties may give you a good feel for how your car might look with similar wheels.

I love the way those wheels look on your car!!!

I have weld prostars on the back of my '65 Delta 88 the rims are 15x9 with 3 1/2" of backspace and I am able to fit 295/50/15's in the back with out a problem. In the front i have the same rims but 15x7 with about 4' of backspace with 225/60/15 tires. I think that stance of the car looks real good and the big tires fit very well with the size of the car. I still have to put pictures of my finished car one of these days.
