1969 Delta Royale
Hi, new member and new owner of a 69 Delta Royale 2 dr coupe. I bought it through work, its all orignal and in decent shape with a rebuilt orignal 455 rocket and trans.
My question is, does anyone have any good pics of this style of car, I am trying to find some good pics so I can make sure I have all trim and badges for said car. Thanks muchly |

Thank you, not quite the same model, but it does give me an idea of what I may be missing for trim pieces.
I fell into this deal, the boss thought it was a pile of junk, however it's turning out to be a completely orignal stock Delta Royale. The body needs some TLC and a lil bit of cancer work, but for its age, hardly any work at all. The interior is mint cept for the driver's seat. I have taken some pics and will post them soon. Thanks again, |

Well, as promiced here are some pics of my newest find.
1969 Olds Delta 88 Royale 2dr hardtop coupe. All original, except for the rims and tires. 74,000 orignal miles, one owner, all original manuals, and other paperwork, small amount of rust on fenders and below the rear window. Trunk and floor pans are mint. Interior except for the drivers seat is mint. Missing its vinal roof. Freshly rebuilt original 455 4BBL and matching rebuilt 3speed auto. Rebuilds were done less then 5 yrs ago and have less then 300 miles on it since then. Outside of car seem rough, due to being stored in a body shope for a few years, while it was supposed to be restored. Splatered with different colors of paint and hood has pealed its paint. Been off the road since '82, but started and driven around a parking lot once or twice a year. Hence the less then 300 on the rebuilt motor and trans. All this, with transfer papers and registration for $300 Cdn. Enjoy, I know I am and god this is going to be a sweet restore. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

WOOOHOOOOO! you found yourself a deal my friend! That Royale package is nice. The console really makes the interior. I would recommend two tone paint instead of a vinyl top because there is so much opportunity for water intrusion and corrosion, then you end up with water leaks on the back window or the top. But, that's just my opinion. Sell those aftermarket wheels and get some nice full size wheel covers on steel wheels. The bolt pattern will prevent you from using SSII wheels unless you use adapters which I did and was sorry for it.

Thank you both. I am very happy with this find and with your advice and others have decided to do the following with her.
1. Lose the vinyl top, and do a two tone paint job. Although I may go one step farther and do a simulated vinyl top with a fabric paint that a painter buddy of mine told me about. If I do this, I will be putting all the original trim work around where the top would normally be. 2.Minor work to the motor and exhast. K&N filter in the stock air cleaner. Upgrade the ignition system, with plug wires, coil and maybe a new distrib. Probally an upgrade from the stock y pipe and signal tail pipe to a dual exhast with crossover and flowmaster mufflers. I looked already and the car only has one pipe, but the whole thing is factory notched for a dual system. 3. Rims. Not sure what yet....I have not seen any pics of a stock rim and cap yet, would like to do that, but may go with nice plain aluminum rim. I got the keys made up for it, primed the motor and gave it a go. Wow... she fired on the first crank and purred like a kitten on 'roids..LOL. Not a knock, ting rattle nothing and the throtle responce was amazing. I was able to contane myself and not go for a ride, but am looking forward to it before I start the tear down for the media blaster. |

Sorry I won't part out this car, if I sell it, it would be whole...cause I cant tear apart a 100% original car. Thanks for asking though. ![]() |

If you want duals on that you need to call Thornton reprductions and get the special S casting manifold (about 229.95 + shipping). Trust me its well worth it they fit so perfect its scary. And for wheels I recomend the Buick rallys they look good on a delta. To finish of the wheels you buy the olds wheel decal off ebay and they look great. I cant post a pic because my files are to big but you can just picture it in your mind.

New here
Hello, everyone.
Just found you guys here. I've been a Delta 88 aficionado since I was 18. I've had 5 of them, all but one '69's. (That one was a '70) One was a Royale like yours, though green with a black vinyl top. I traded it when I got married in '82, and wished I never had. Now, I've got one in the shop being restored (well, repainted and new interior), but I think it's a Custom, not a Royale. No power options, and bench front seat. Still has the Rocket 455 4bbl., though. Hopefully, I'll get it back soon. DeltaFlyer |
