can any one tell me the difficulty in rebuilding a rear end pinion,and gears??

hey, I would have to say if you never rebuilt a rear end, let a good mechanic do it while you watch. I've replaced motors in cars but I will not mess with a ring and pinion. you wont know it's shimed correctly until you drive it and then it could either knock or hum.
