I have a 1969 Olds Cutlass. I bought it a few months ago. It has been wrecked lightly in the front and I am in the process of repairing it. Besides needing a front bumper, I also need the brace that mounts fron the top of the radiator core sukpport to the bottom of the radiator core skupport. This is the brace the hood latch assembly and handle mounts to. Does anyone know if the brace from a 70, 71 or 72 will fit the 69? If it won't, does anyone have one they would care to part with?

I'm off today, I was hoping to pick one up from the local salvage, If anyone knows the years of interchange for the hoodlatch support brace, I would appreciate the info. Thanks

 

I don't know about years interchange, but I may have an extra one for a 69. I can check tomorrow and let you know.

 

Unfortunately, only 1969 parts will work.

 

Guys, thanks for all the tech reference and offers. I had a line on a hood latch brace here locally, but the guy was unsure if he had one. Long story short, Last night I broke out the hammers and welder and shaped mine back to original form. Installed a nice set of grilles and now I'm just waiting on a set of headlight housing and bezels that'll be here tomorrow. Unfortunately patience isn't my strong suit!
