I am pretty sure 69 is one year only.

1969 is the only year that fits. For the 1964-72 cars, the core supports, grilles, and most of the associated parts are one-year-only. The exception is 1971-1972, which are the same. This is due to the last minute delay in release of the "colonnade" cars that came out in 1973 but were originally scheduled for 1972. The 71s got a quick application of makeup and were sent out as 72s.

I hate to correct but I'll do it anyway.
The '71 and '72 Cutlass core supports are different too. The '72 support has clearance sections at each end for the grills to wrap around into and the '71 is flat on top. I had no idea until I was looking for a core support for my Vista Cruiser. I would like to know the story on why they would spend time and money on the tooling just to change the grills on a car that was never supposed to be produced? I know problems held up the release of the all new '72 but they could of just made different looking grills that fit the '71 unit? The "miscellanies" section at Texas442.com shows the differences in the '71-2 core supports and fenders. http://www.texas442.com/ Allan Last edited by Bluevista; September 19th, 2008 at 01:47 AM.. |

OK, I did not know that. Good link with the photos. It does appear that while different, the 71 and 72 core supports will interchange. That is not true for any prior years.
