1971 Cutlass compatibility?
I just picked up a 1971 Cutlass Supreme sedan that is missing most of the front grille. I am wondering, is there a difference between the grille in the sedan and coupe? How about the 442? Or other years?
I hope to find a cheap set of grille components (daily driver quality) and knowing which ones will fit my Cutlass would be very helpful. |

I think that '71 and '72 grilles from Cutlass, Cutlass S, Cutlass Supreme and 442 would all physically fit you car. I am not sure about '73 though, I think that year was different.

71 and 72 are close, but not a true fit. The 72 grill curves back on the outside edge. The 72 radiator support has cutouts to accept them. Check it out at www.texas442.com under Miscellanies.
But, yes, all 71 grills are the same size/shape and interchangable. The only difference is the appearance and color of the grill slats. C.J. |
