1970 Cutlass SX 455 Transmission Conversion

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking into buying an old muscle car and I came across an olds cutlass sx. It has the 455 engine and an auto trans. I'm big on manual transmissions, so what I would like to know is, what manual transmissions will fit on this car? Would it be an expensive project to convert this car to a stick? Thanks alot for reading my post!

It will be real expensive and you will have to buy everything for the stick set up. You will need a bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate and flywheel plus a 4 speed trans, crossmember and driveshaft. You will also need all the linkage and clutch and brake pedal setup plus a shifter. You will need the reverse lockout linkage and a steering column also. You will have to open up the floor and weld in a 4 speed hump alsoTotal cost if you can find all the parts will be about $2500.00 or more. The best thing is try to find a 70 4 speed car for all the parts like a chevelle or another olds with a 4 speed and switch everything out.

Hey, thanks for al the great info, I didnt realize it would be that expensive. The car sold already, and I found a 1970 Camaro z-28 that is a 4-speed car for 3600. Thanks again for your help!
