Whats it worth?
Got a lead on a 70 S post couple with buckets/console and original drivetrain....66K miles, probably not original. Motor has just been rebuilt. Car needs small patches in all 4 corners and paint. Pretty straight car other than the little bit of rot. I know the post cars are popular with the drag racers. Just wondering what the ballpark value is for this car. What do you guys think?

Hard to say by the limited description. 455 or 350? stick or auto? what rear end has it got? Any other options? Also depends on what you want to do with it. How much is the seller asking? AND are you going to do an inspection on it b4 u buy? (so you know what problem areas it has?) Lots of times if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't.

It's a 350, auto with 278 gears...pretty much a standard Cutlass back in the day. What makes it unique is the post coupe w/buckets and console. I believe this car could be had for 2500 cash on a good day. AS stated, it needs some body work but it's all minor. I'm thinking that any Cutlass this old that runs is probably worth something in the ballpark of the asking price. I have driven the car and its definitlely road worthy. Just basically needs tlc (every heard that before?!

Anywhere from 1500 to 6000 based on the information provided. I am from NY, where the term "rust free" just means they dont charge extra for it. I have learned that a car that just needs minor rust repair and paint usually means a 7000 prep and paint job to turn the car into a 6000 dollar car.
I really wish I could be more helpful with your price question, but there are just too many variables. The economy is in the toilet, too, so prices have suffered over the last year. At 2k or 2500 you cant get hurt too badly, though. |
