Removing trim on a '79

I have a 1979 Cutlass Supreme with a landau top. There is some rust at the base of one of the side opera windows. Most of the rust is underneath the curved piece of trim around the window. How do I go about removing this piece of trim? I have removed the interior panel around the window and some of the trim from the vinyl top. Do I need to remove the window to remove the exterior trim? Thanks.

Hi. Yes, you will need to cut out the window to get at the three screws that hold the moulding in from the inside. Be carefull you don't cut the rubber moulding. Also, the rubber moulding between the chrome, and glass, is attatched to the chrome moulding. Don't try to pull it out seperate from the chrome, or it will be easily damaged. Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes. I also have a GM shop manual for 1980, in case you might have other questions.
Best of luck, Jim.
