Need Info on 86 Cutlass Salon

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this model. I have done some research but found little. I currently have the oppurtunity to purchase the vehicle for $500.00
The car has T-tops and a stock 305. It was made by GM canada. I have heard it is a rare oldsmobile.

Have you had any luck yet. There is an atricle in wikipedia about how the salon came to be. Let me know if you have any luck.

This afternoon I am going to try to look through some books to see what I can find

Smile I have an 85 Salon

I love my car. If you can get one for 500 that's great. I have had mine for years now, it's been sitting. I finnaly am gonna get it running again. What I know is mine has the 307 in it as well. I was unsure but a fellow member told me a way to find out for sure. If your oil fill tube is in front and center of your block then it's the Olds motor, also the distributor will not go through the intake. Your right about it being from Canada and they are hard to get info about. That's what im tring to learn. I gonna get her running then when I get all the info i need I will tear her down and get it show ready. Also check the 8th letter of your VIN it will be a Y if it's an Olds motor. I hope that maybe all this jabbering might of helped you alittle LOL
