performance upgrade
I have an 83 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham 4 door, with a 3.8L V6. I want to get a few more ponies out the 3.8L, but can't find any aftermarket add-ons. Does anyone have any ideas of things i can do to my 3.8L. (cold air intake, supercharging, etc..). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

Pull the 3.8 and drop a 455 or a 350 olds in it. 3.8 isn't worth hopping up

I have a 85 Delta 88 with the 307, I'm doing very little work to the motor, just enough to keep it running. In a few years, in goes a Olds 350 and the fun will being

Its an 83 Cutlass Full-size just dump a 350 or 305 its fit with the turbo 350 trans. they came with those so it shouldnt be hard to find one that will give it some pick up. or build your own or custom v8 and slam it in then it will rock out with its cock out.

Thanks for the info. Good to know I can keep the same tranny and put a 350 in. Would like to do that one day, but for now am going to tune up this V6 as much as I can and see what happens.

The last time I went into a Buick V6 it cost a bundle. Was a 79, even fire with the newer style heads. It ran darn good, but for the price I could have had a V8. But hey, that was 20 years ago. The Buick V6 takes up alot of room, but is infamous for the Grand Nationals success with excess mods and lots of $$. I would change out to a V8 or consider a 4.3 if you insist on a 6. Lots of folks are dumping thier 307's, and they are a darn good engine. Anyone ever used the roller 307 with a TBI from a 305 truck?
