Tell my why this car idles high???

Hello All, Newbie here.

I have a 93 cutless cruiser s wagon 3.3l engine FWD 4 speed trany. My question is this, The car idles very High all the time even when warm. But what I did today was disconnect the positive battery cable for a few minutes then re-connected it again, and the idle went to normal I guess I reset the computer by doing so. is that an indication of a tune up! or is it something more; like a throttle position sensor???

Please fill me in on the probible causes?? for this behavor.

Thank's

Al
