How to remove surface rust from rims..

I have wheels like these on my 87 cutlass supreme.. and theirs minimul rust on the lips of them.. i was wondering how to solve this w/out sanding them and dipping them in chrome

also i'm new here.. ill get some pics of my car i just bought today soon!!!

You could always try a RUST CONVERTER type product. Decent auto stores will carry this, and it's about $3-5$ for a small bottle.

They suggest sanding before applying, since a lot of rust can hide under the paint in the surrounding area, but if you have very minimal rust (I can't see any in the picture) you can probably just apply the rust converter to the affected areas.

When the rust converter dries, it dries to a sandable, semi-gloss black finish.

Chrom?

If they are chrome, get some turtle wax chrome polish at you local parts store, and use a little elbow grease. This stuff will polish rust off chrome and shine the wheel up as well. It also leaves a protective coating to keep wheel looking nice.

Try never-dull, when you open up the can you will think "this is garbage" but it works like a dream on rust, and it minimises pits in chrome to
