1970 Hood Extension Question
Just need to confirm a question I have about the hood extension for the 1970 Cutlass and 442. According to my parts manual 404924 is for the standard Cutlass while 404926 is for the 442. My question is what is the difference? Best I can determine from my assembly manual is that the number 404926 is pre-pierced for the 442 numbers but otherwise they are the same. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!

That's the difference. All except 442 were punched for the Rocket 230710 or S 230711 emblems; 442 extension was punched for the numerals 230712, 713, 714.
Have you grown to despise the thing yet? back of my head still has scars from the 70 we had when I was growing up.

I've had my 1970 for over 20 years now, and every once in a while I still stand up and bonk my head

I have had my 70 for 21 years and its been done for 10. That was the worst design so I'm glad when I bought my 71! I bet Olds had tons of complaints about that hood when they were new!!!
