Car Names

I named my 98, Stella -- for no reason in particular except that it sounds so dramatic when yelled in disappointed exclamation (e.g., she wont start on a frigid morning, etc). hahaa!

The only name I have for my 69 H/O is BABY.

My 59 Desoto is named Maude. She is red and white with black vinyl seats and a leopard print padded dash. She just needs a cigarette hanging out of the grille and she would be right out of the movies.

My husband owns a 57 Plymouth Fury that is painted red and white and calls her...wait for it...Christine. Go figure.

Our other vehicle is Flo. A 1959 Dodge Custom Sierra Station Wagon that we took on our honeymoon this past October. We put 7,778 miles on her (we test drove her for 10 miles before leaving) and she just seemed to FLO through anything that was thrown at her.

Oh Boy, so many names it's hard to remember them all. Here are a few. The turquois 98 is called "MoneyMaker." Three times to the dragstrip, three times in the money. The grey 98 is "Grey Ghost," go figure. It has an early C-headed 400 cu in engine in it. Two older Owner car, never did figure out how the 400 got in it but it was in a hard wreck early on in it's "life." Green 71 Royale conv was "Sweet-P" until where I had her stored, someone dented it, now I call her "Split-P." You figure it out. My car hauler is called "Big-Daddy," She has an 8-ton PTO and has dragged dozens of Olds out of fields/off hills in Ohio/Pa/W Va. Thats just a few of the names. Later, Ken

We've named our cars over the years but the best was when my Mom named their 89 Chevy Caprice. She called it "Clarice". She loved that car!

I once had some truckers name one of my old cars. I had a replica Ferrari Daytona Spyder made by McBurney had an 350 engine out of a 87 vette. Well I was on this 2 lane blacktop passing trucks at about 110 in a 55 when a highway patrol drops out of the sky and pulls me over. He say, "I was waiting for you. I was monetoring the trucker CB and they said watch out for the Red Rocket". So after I got out of the pokey I got this license plate.

The Animal as stated in my signature. This comes from it's insatiable appetite for hydrocarbons.

never had a chance to name my pontiac till i drove it into the woods, but the cutlass wagon was aptly named Barn Burner, because it was party central, or it was also called the Storm Cruiser, cuz a couple buddies and i would always take it storm chasing. and my taurus is called the Whyte Knyght, because i just thought it sounded cool, lol

Right after that came everyone out and push. At least that worked with the sticks an early automatics (needed a hill with the early autos to get to 20)

'79 Z-28 named Lester... took down a pole with it and bent the subframe, had it straightened, but was never right after... no longer own it.

'87 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo named Damien... rolled it... was junked.

'92 S-10 named Clyde... ran into a ditch pretty hard and bent the frame... totalled it.

'89 Beretta named Bernie... Flywheel got chewed and wasn't worth fixing. Still sitting at a buddie's place.

'82 Olds Cutlass named Oliver... running it daily, and keepin' the fingers crossed!

37 years old and owned only 5 vehicles!

I never really had names for my cars, but lately we just call them by the colours, Red, Blue, Black, Orange etc. The truck is called 'Truck' but the Oliver is called 'Ollie'..

Well for my 1982 Delta 88 Royale it is aptly named "the boat" because it is very light blue and with most old cars, the car doesn't turn, it leans lol and the big steering wheel makes me want to don a captains hat and hunt for moby dick lol
