pcv valve
hello everyone I just joined this group as I have just purchased a 1963
98 2dr. I grew up with olds as a kid as my dad worked for a small olds dealer for 23 years, till the owner retired in 1969. needless to say that I grew up in a olds dealership from the time i could walk till 1969. anyway, my question is does anyone remember the first pcv valves that olds used on the '63 & '64's. they looked a lot like the common olds breather filters of later years except that it was a valve and was operated by a small vacuum line. The current delco replacement looks like a cv679c except it has threads on one end. was there an update in later years for these 63&64's??? and if so where is it installed my 63 has the original style and needs to be replaced. I work in the auto parts business and have researched as much as I can hastings no longer lists it and delco says this cv590 fits from '58 -'63 we all know the first year for a pcv in olds was '63 so I am not trusting my ac delco catalog!!!!!!!!! ac delco is also saying '64 was different and I am distrustful of that also as I owned a '64 super 88 way back and it looks like the same one to me. any info would be a start. thanx |

There is a store in Pennsylvania that has a lot of odd crap like that. I see it all the time on my ebay hunts.
Here is a link to his store, he would be a better person to ask. http://stores.ebay.com/Noschevparts-Obsolete-Auto-parts
