was the VIN number stamped on the chassis in 1953?
I am an olds I just bought and the VIN tag is missing from the car. I was wondering if anyone knows if the VIN was also stamped on the chassis.
PLEASE HELP!! No VIN, No Title..... No Title, No Registration/Tag...... No Tag, NO driving ![]() |

No VIN. Use the engine # for that early year.

Thanks for the reply, that's what everybody told me and I spoke with some people who really know Oldsmobiles.
But the VIN number is indeed stamped in every 1952 and 1953 Oldsmobile. It is on top of the side rail right about under the driver's seat. I don't know about later or older models. Please pass on this information no Oldsmobile owner knew about it. |
