64 Starfire Seat Belts

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to properly install seat belts in my 1964 Starfire. It originally didn't have any but I did buy two sets with mounting brackets for the front and three sets for the back. I have the seat removed but really don't know how I should mount them to the body.

Any idea's would be appreciated.

Rene

Look under the car and you should find two pair of weld nuts on the floor pan, for the front belts. Remove any dust plugs, then poke thru the carpet and pad from underside to open the bolt holes.

The rear belts are tricky as the cars weren't fitted with installation provision for them. You have to make sure you don't drill thru a brake line or such when you open mounting holes.

Not sure when seat belts became mandatory for Canadian cars. US spec cars required them in 1963.
