56 88 hood removal
Help, I'm trying to remove my hood on a 1956 Olds 88. How do those pins on the hinge come out? Thanks in advance. Mikey

Those "pins" should be rivets.
Find the bolts that hold the hinges to the hood. Far easier to remove. Norm |

hood bolts
Norm,
Thanks, but are you saying to remove the rivets and use bolts? Or to take the hood off by removing the whole hinge assembly? What about the hood springs? How do you remove those with damage control? Thanks Mikey |

The spring assembly stays with the car. The should be a plate on top of the spring assembly with two 9/16 nuts and washers holding the plate to the hood. Both sides are identical. Two people are best for the removal of the hood |
