Does anyone know why yearone does not make repro hood hinges for the 68 442? Or where I could find a pair?

I may have a set up in Medford Oregon, I'll have to dig around and see. John

Because they are a one-year-only design requiring a large financial investment with a very small potential market. They don't sell repro fenders, bumpers, or full quarters for those cars either and there's probably a much larger market for those parts due to rust repair. Keep in mind that during most of the musclecar years, Pontiac sold on average TEN TIMES as many GTOs as Olds sold 442s. Year One is a commercial business, not a charity. They intend to make a profit.

Unless you are going for absolute accuracy, do yourself a favor and get a set of hinges off a 69-72. They open up wider and will save your head because you will not be bumping into it as often.

These are not a bolt-in replacement. The attaching nuts on the fenders are in a different place.

Been to Paul's place twice over the years as he is less than 20 miles away. Real good for miscellaneous parts that you cant find anywhere else, and yes, very knowledgeable as he has been dismanteling 442's, GSs etc. for years. Went to look at a TH350 that had a high performance rebuild and zero miles (so his partner said on the phone). Needless to say it was obviously used as Paul stated when I arrived. Told myself I wouldn't go back.

Sorry to hear that, I never met him as I am in Ga. And I have never spoken with his "partner" But he has always been very straight up with me. I once had a problem with some seat belts I bought from him, He fix the problem right away.

I have found that looking for good used parts via the net is the equilant of walking through a mine field.

Some of the Bozo's out there with a few wrenches not only don't know their parts, the are "pay me now" and let me see if I can find the part, crooks.

One in particular comes to mind, but shall remain nameless. But he advertises like crazy.

I've had very good luck with Paul and I've bought some really nice parts from him.
