putting together the front end of my 68 cutlass
okay so i have gathered about all the stuff to start putting the front end together on my car but when i got the car the core support was bare and that is where im stumped because i have all the buckets, springs and the adjusters but as i was watching the 442 episode of "overhaulin" i noticed what looked like a spacer that would go between the headlight bucket and core support...is this right because if so i am so screwed cause the 68 was a 1 year only and 1st year redesign and im already having trouble finding trim for the front end....please someone with a 68 442 or cutlass(same of course) tell me if my eyes are lying to me. i hope i was looking at a "custom one off chip foose piece" or something because ive all ready talked to opgi and they say the part dont exist but im sure i saw a spacer of some sort attached to the core support.

yes, your eyes don't lie.
it is part of the head light assembly three bolts to the cor sopport and the buckets springs and adjustment screws atach to it. my car was missing the passenger side assembly and i got mine out of a 69 cutlass that was in the local junk yard. they look like nuw with a little sand blasting and primer and paint. |

I'm up in Medford Oregon and have two 1968 Cutlass parts cars. If you don't find what you need send me an email at jmcneel@msn.com Also... CJ is right, get a Chassis Service Manual and that will take care of a lot of your headaches!
