What rear sway bar is this??

I recently bought a used rear sway bar that was supposed to fit my 72 Cutlass.
I just happened to be bored, so I compared my lower control arms and shims to the sway bar. No fit.

On the arms and shims, the bolt-bolt spacing is 6". On the sway bar it is 5.5".
The width of the bar from the edge holes is about 38". From the inner holes, it is about 41.5".
The bar is 7/8" dia.

Are the control arms wrong or the sway bar??

I'm glad I did not paint the sway bar black yet; as it might make for a good clothes hanging rod in the laundry room - white would be preferred then....

Well, I can tell you that the bar is NOT a factory 64-72 A-body bar. The factory bars did not follow the contour of the axle housing the way that one does. They were just "V" shaped. Yours looks like a G-body bar.

Rob,
Joe is right (as usual),

Here are a couple of pics of the sway bar for my 72 Cutlass. I'm adding the components that are needed for the FE2 suspension (including boxed control arms and control arm braces).

These pics are 1" swaybar. Looks quite a bit different than the one you bought. BTW I double checked the bolt pattern and it is 6".

Obviously, this is upside down, but you can see the difference with the pumpkin bend.

Yes I still need one.
I can get a new repro 1"er for 98 bucks shipped to my door.
If I can get a used one for less, I would sure consider it. No pretty NOS stuff though.
Let me know what you might have - THANKS!!
