Looking for a 53 Olds 88
I am looking for a 1953 Olds 88 for a friend of mine who has one that was totally submerged in salt water due to hurricane Katrina. He is willing to purchase another car so that he can use it for parts (engine, trans. etc.) or if the one he finds is in good a shape as his, he may just keep it to use. This car belonged to his wife mother who purchase the car new. If anyone knows where or has one that they are willing to part with please leave a message and I will send you my Email address so that we can see some photos and talk price. Thanks To All Who Can Help

I would be more concerned with interior and wiring than engine/trans. You can always rebuild them but the interior would need replacing I would think. Much of that stuff you can get at Fusick or Kanter. Also try this guy, he runs a yard in S.W. Missouri and might come up with something. I have recommended him before to others.

I am a little ways away but if you go to www.craigslist.org under Seattle/Tacoma Washington. Check the cars/trucks listing and under search enter 1953 Olds 88 there is one that is listed for $1500.00.

I was the one that purchased that '53 super 88 off of craigslist. I saw the car for sale in my town but it was really rusted out and needed a lot of work. I knew he wasn't going to get the $1500 for it so I waited a while and when he dropped the price to $600 I put it on a trailer and brought it home. Two weeks later it was done and I was driving it. I pretty much worked on it 24 hours a day for those two weeks. I had been looking for a '53 for many years that was in the state.
