1966 Delta 88 Convertible - 425 V8 Super Rocket

Okay, so I bought this car back in December I think. It's been sitting and sitting, because I don't have a job. I can't decide whether to keep it and dump my 7 bucks/hour into it, or to simply sell it again and buy a car that is better on gas, and a bit smaller.

Some pictures:

Those pictures were taken while we were in the process of buying it. Meaning they were taken at the original seller's home. It looks the same, however. If I do decide to sell it, it will be running (have to replace battery and starter).

Some notes I should point out because they're not visible in the pictures:
  • Yes, the front and rear bumpers are bent. However, they were recently rechromed, with a few other things
  • Yes, I have ALL PAPERWORK of anything that was ever ever done to the car.
  • Yes, there are some rusted areas.
  • Yes, paint is faded in some areas (like the trunk).
  • The top has holes, you'll need a new one.
  • The trunk pan has been fixed up with sheet metal, I discovered.
  • The exhaust pipe seems to have a hole in it somewhere.
  • Yes, that is the original interior in great condition.
  • Yes, that is the original 425 V8 Super Rocket that you see. I'm not sure if it's been rebuilt or not.
  • It does NOT have the original sound system. It's been upgraded, and the original owner also put a bass in the trunk (not sure of size, don't ask).
  • Obviously, I've cleaned the outside and interior of the car since I got it. Don't worry about the dirt you see.
  • Yes, I will include the skulls.
I don't think I've forgotten anything. Remember: As of now, I'm not positive if I'm selling. Make some offers, I guess... I'll check the thread regularly.

I'm still in high school though, and without a job. The only money I have right now is 150 bucks from winning a competition, and my mom is only willing to put 500 bucks into it right now.

Plus, the gas mileage is too much for my liking. I didn't think it'd be a problem, but once I actually had to pay for the gas I started disliking the mpg more and more. Forty bucks to fill up the tank to full ain't bad, though.

Think I could get 6-7,000 from it..? Too high, too low (lol as if)?

Nice car. Keep it and park it in some place dry. Buy yourself some day-to-day transportation and come back to your car in a couple of years.

It's too bad you have to sell, but, yes, I think you could get this much for it. The Old Cars Price Guide puts the value of this car in #4 condition (good running condition but needing full restoration) at $3,600 and in #3 condition (good car show quality) at $8,100. I think your car is better than #4 but probably not quite #3 given that it needs a new top and some other things. But I think its value is toward the high side of the difference, which would be in the $6,000 to $7,000 range, which is just what you were thinking. Good luck on it.
