possable transmission problem

possable transmission problem

well this only has happend twice but i was wondering if it has happend to your cars...my bravada is an automatic with about 88k on it....my brother was driving it and said he was backing out of a parking spot and it kickd and heard a sloshing sound(some liquid)...it happend again tonight when i was with him and it kicked a couple times when shifting at about 30mph...should this be something to worry about???

Well...bucking and slushing sounds aren't NORMAL...unless it's a Yugo...or a F*rd...

Was the truck warm? What was the outside temp? How long have you owned it?

Get the truck warmed up, in park,and on a level surface. Find your transmission dipstick, pull it out and take a look. Is the fluid at or near (but not over) the full mark? Is the fluid a clearish pink color? Nor brown or discolored? No "bits" of metal or grit/dirt in it? Does it smell burnt?

It's a start...

no it wasent warm...it was about 50 outside...and ive owned it about 3-4 months

so i FINALY brought the truck to a trany shop

and $1300 , new differential, and a new transfer case got it back and running fine

i hope ha
