Brake Diagrams?
I have a 63 Olds 98, and like an idiot, I took a couple springs off the opposite side brake drum, so now I don't have a side for reference. I got it all figured out except for one spring that I can't for the life of me remember where it goes. Anyone know where I can find a diagram?

Hey Bryce,
If you don't have a service manual for your car, you should get one soon. They're available on ebay all the time and are worth their weight in gold. For example, my '62 Olds manual has an excellent brake diagram (exploded) that indentifies all the springs. Here's an ebay auction in progress for a [new] '63 Olds service manual. Good Luck! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Oldsm...ayphotohosting

Do you have a pic of the spring and the brake, we may be able to help you out better.
Let me know how it goes.

I gave up and bought the shop manual. I figure I'll need it at some point anyway. Thanks for the link, Kahuna.

So it was you the bought the manual? That's a good thing RatRod!
I went a little overboard and bought 3 sets of manuals for my '62. I keep one set in the car at all times, one set at home (for when I'm ebaying) and one set for my good buddy who's a mechanic and sometimes works on this car. Me? Car crazy? Happy motoring!
