emergency cable '84 Delta 88

Is there a special tool for replaceing the cable. It is frozen solid and won't move at all. Or, should I have a shop do it?

Good question Ztim. I don't know the answer, so you will have to leave it to the forum members.

No special tools required, just patience. After you check to see if the rears are siezed or not, cut the old cable where it connects to the intermediate, under the driver's floor, or loosen the equalizer nut (where it splits at the rear) if it's not too rusted. A spring clip holds it in the frame, (remove first) and a rubber grommet at the firewall. The cable is removed from inside the car. Tie a string, or wire to the old one before removal, it will help in feeding through the new one. Hope this helps.
