Cowl drain?
Cowl drain?
Does anyone know where the drain for the cowl is on a 55 Olds S88? I am planning to take out the air boxes and clean up my firewall with some sheet metal. If these boxes have the drain in built in them, can anyone tell me from experience what I can do to build a drain once I have the sheet metal welded?
No sure on the 55 but my 57 Olds cowl drains are inboard of the air boxes on both sides. the about and inch in diameter, the gromments and drain hoses are missing on mine and it was hard to spot the holes at first. I would assume they are the same on yours. I deleted the air box on the drivers side when I converted to a hanging brake pedal and brake booster with dual master cylinder.
What I mean is that the drain hole for the drivers side is to the left of the air box towards the center of the engine and drain hole is to the right side of the air box on the passenger side facing the engine. They are not covered up by the air box. Hard to see without a good light and the rubber piece with the drain hose might still be there making it hard to see, almost looks like a vacuum line
