someone painted my trim bezels

I found a new set of trim bezels on ebay for a ungodly amount and my budget can't afford them right now..Well I has messing around with my rc heli with my dremel and notice in my dremel tool box some polishing compound...I removed the 1 of the bezels and let it soak in paint stripper for about 10 min. The paint bubbled right off but left me with a dull gray metal instead of what I was hoping for some shinny metal...I started buffing with a dremel and the dremel polishing compound and it ended up coming out like a million bucks,,check the before and after pics and let me know...Its not perfect but looks way better then the painted bezels,,,,now i got 3 more 2 go...I learn some buffing the first and the last 3 will even be better...

Hello Shawn
All of these I've seen were body colored, including the parts car I have. I've never seen a set that were chrome plated. I don't know if the ones on ebay were plated or off some other car. The Cutlass/442 had similar grills but I believe those too were body colored. John

Whoops! I answered before reading your whole message. I wonder though if it will hold the shine or just get dull again unless they're plated. John

I just finished the last one...After a tube of polishing compound,,,20 felt polishing dremel wheels,, and a quart of paint stripper,,,i think it came out really nice...Even if the dull up a bit i think it still looks better then paint..I go to the blue beacon truck was and they have this brighter that does miracles to dull metal....I am going to take my sled out there tonite and see how it does...

I beleive they are the same but not sure..

It turns out the light bezela are not supposed to be polished or chrome looking...BUt with some polishing compound and a dremel I made it shine like the pics...I will see how they hold up..I am sure they will dull a bit but I bought some never dull and just got done using it on them and boy do they shine...
